At Seri Pajam Development, we believe in building a sustainable future, not just through our developments but also by taking responsibility for our environmental impact. As part of our ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts, we recently launched an E-Waste Recycling Initiative to encourage staff members to dispose of their old and non-working electronic devices responsibly.
Why E-Waste Recycling Matters
Electronic waste, or e-waste, is one of the fastest-growing waste streams globally. Improper disposal of electronic devices can lead to harmful environmental effects, including soil contamination and water pollution. By collecting and recycling e-waste, we aim to minimize our carbon footprint while fostering a culture of sustainability within our workplace.
The Initiative: Recycle It All
Between 13 – 20 January 2025, Seri Pajam Development invited all staff members to drop off their unwanted electronic items at our HQ, Level 2 collection point. Items accepted ranged from old laptops, CPUs, monitors, and printers to mobile phones, smart devices, and various electronic accessories. We ensured that both non-working and functional items were properly handled, with the help of ERTH (E-Waste Recycling Through Heroes), a trusted e-waste recycling partner.
Turning Waste into Value
To further encourage participation, we offered a monetary incentive for e-waste items based on their type and condition. Non-working items were compensated per unit, while functional devices were tested and valued accordingly. This not only promoted responsible disposal but also provided an opportunity for staff to declutter their spaces in an environmentally friendly manner.
